Chasing Baja

"Dave's e-mail to the team"

It's been said before, but the only thing that can be said is Wow!  Baja was the single most difficult, arduous, stressful, and fulfilling thing I have ever done in my life.  Greg and I went through some of the coldest parts of Baja in an open topped Bronco, drove through the night when sleep kept trying to rear it's ugly head, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.  What an outstanding time and what an outstanding group of people.

Chuck - True professional.  It was a pleasure to meet you.  I was impressed by your constant positive attitude even when it came down to a brand new faulty part keeping you from the finish line.  The entire race, I just knew you were going to make it to the finish. You did AWESOME out there.  Your truck rocked, your drivers rocked, and you got to show Jesse James that a Bronco is a whole lot more than "no big deal".   I can't express myself enough to show my appreciation for the experience.  Also, thank you SO much for letting me drive the Race Truck for the "last leg" of the Baja. =)  That was awesome.  Although, next time, I promise not to jump the truck when you're trying to get some sleep.

Jason, Patrick, and Art - I didn't get to exchange too many words with you guys, but through it all, you guys came through like champs.  You had your $#!t together when it was needed most.

Jack and Dan - Crew Chiefs extraordinaire!  You guys had all the answers and kept a cool head during the entire time.  That's what everyone needed.. leadership and a place to turn when the answers were unsure.  You two kicked butt out there.  And Dan, GREAT work with the GPS.  If it wasn't for you, we'd all probably still be wandering the desert.

Phil - You made a great showing.  It's just unfortunate that the suspension didn't want to stand up to the rigors.  Just get that rig back up to spec and we'll see you there next time!

Tyler - Thanks for not peeing on me.  You did some great work for Phil's Rig and Chase 3 performed very well.  You kept in the heat of it when it was needed most.

Mike - Your Bronco knowledge helped when they needed it the most.  15 minutes for you and Greg to change out a rear axle?!?  Incredible.

Kathy, Tim, Liz, Matt, and everyone else.... What a great bunch of people.  I'm honored to have shared this experience with you all.

See you at the NEXT Baja!!
